We are a family run business since 2002 based in the prairies of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Our main focus in business is the creation of art and music and the development of art in the community and beyond.

Born in the heart of a revolutionary era Derek was raised by his free-thinking mother in Ontario while his Father (a heavy metal singer) was out busy trying to make a name for himself. Through Derek's early years his interest in his Mother's records (sometimes as frisbees) combined with his submersion in a multi-cultural, breakdancing neighbourhood of the 80's sparked interest at a very early stage. Over time Derek studied independently under many experts, mastering techniques in various studio environments and live on stages across Canada with hands-on experience. In 2002 Secret Cloud was formed and the first project released was "Bending Mouth" which was a project headed by Derek (going under the moniker "Selfhelp") and friend Thesis Sahib. In 2004 the album had reached across the United States, Europe & Asia and eventually a select 8 songs from the 18 song debut was pressed to vinyl by an independent record label owner in France (Vulgar Records). Meanwhile, in between albums Derek took to alter native work developing digital art for cell phone giants such as Cingular / AT & T, Bell Mobility, etc. Derek has also worked for various record labels and artists in developing artwork for print such as flyers, album artwork, etc.
Erica was raised in Saskatchewan in the 80's. Relaxed and cool as a tiger she spent many years playing piano with her Grandfather who's passion for the fiddle had Erica dancing to an upbeat vibe ever since she was a baby. Her natural abilities on the ivory keys developed into a well-crafted hobby and she took lessons for 7 years eventually leading up to the ability to teach others by completing the final grade of the Royal Conservatory of Canada. She passed their final exams with first class honors with distinction which resulted in a monetary reward for the highest mark in Saskatchewan. Erica also graduated from a nine month program at Recording Arts Canada in Toronto which gave her a diploma in Sound & Music Recording. Focusing on training new students while raising her son Erica's expertise in music always plays a role in the development of Secret Cloud.
